DuraTact Carborundum Tactiles

Protact’s DuraTact Carborundum tactile indicators are designed and manufactured to comply with AS 1428.4.1:2009. The high quality, solid architectural grade carborundum tactiles feature an appealing 316 marine grade stainless steel finish with a carborundum (silicon carbide) insert. The carborundum insert provides an anti-slip tactile surface that is durable and functional.

The single, solid stainless steel casting allows for superior durability and resistance to shaft dislocation. Cheaper, less sturdy carborundum tactiles that have been welded at the base and shaft from two  pieces are much more likely to dislodge or break at the shaft.

The architectural 316 marine grade stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion and tarnishing. Protact Carborundum Tactiles feature a highly slip resistant tactile face with a carborundum insert which transitions to a smooth, beveled outer edge.
